Simei Penang Laksa Speciality (四美特味槟城叻沙)

Today, I was at Yuhua Market and Hawker Centre to check out the laksa at this stall called Simei Penang Laksa Speciality. I ordered a bowl of Laksa for S$3.00. The Laksa was delicious, the gravy was very thick and tasty. The bee hoon has goes well with the gravy, making it very tasty, you can find ingredients like bean sprouts, cockles, tau pok and hard boiled egg. The laksa is indeed one of the better ones I have tasted and it will satisfy your craving.

Li Fang Zhou Pin (麗芳粥品)

I was at Yuhua Hawker Centre for breakfast today. I heard that there's a stall that sells nice porridge so I decided to check out this stall callIed Li Fang Zhou Pin. When I was there, I noticed they were also  featured in the variety show, "Where The Queue Starts". Luckily there wasn't many people at the queue, I joined in the queue and ordered their signature, Mixed Pork Porridge. The porridge is smooth and very tasty, the ingredients are fresh and there are minced pork ball, sliced pork, slices of pig stomach and deep fried intestines, garnished with sliced ginger and fried spring onions. The bowl of porridge is served with a strip of You Tiao. I'm usually not keen in the you tiao that comes with the porridge but I must say that their you tiao is quite crispy.

Something worth highlighting is their deep fried intestines. They are fried till crispy and fragrant, adding more flavour to the dish. Overall, I find that this porridge is one of the better ones I have tasted.

Zhu Lin Seafood

Today I was at this Tze Char Stall called Zhu Lin Seafood located at Jurong East for dinner. This place is popular for their Paper Wrapper Chicken. The chicken is cooked and wrapped in paper. Here's what I have ordered:

- Curry Fishhead

Their Curry Fishhead is delicious, the gravy is thick and fragrant. The fish is fresh and you can find ingredients like tau kee, tau pok, lady's finger, tomato and brinjal. I would say it is a nice and nutritional dish.

- Paper Wrapper Chicken

The Paper Wrapper Chicken is their signature dish. The chicken is tasty and tender and you can taste the goodness of the chicken and herbs in the gravy. This is one of the better Paper Wrapper Chicken I have tasted.

- Stir Fry Sweet Potato Leave with Sambal Chill

The Stir Fry Sweet Potato Leave with Sambal Chilli is very tasty due to the Sambal Chilli that adds more flavour and spice to the dish.

Ah Mei Cafe

My wife had a craving for Roti Prata and so we decided to have lunch at Ah Mei Cafe. I ordered 2 plain Roti Prata and a piece of Fried Chicken. Although the name of the stall is a chinese name but the cook is an Indian. The Roti Prata is nice and crispy. The fish curry is also very tasty and not too diluted or tasteless. However, I find that the standard is not very consistent. When I was there on another occassion, the Fried Chicken is crispy on the outside and the meat is tender on the inside and it went very well with the briyani. Even the prata tasted better the first time. If you have craving for Roti Prata and there are no good Roti Prata stalls around you can check out this place.
